Water drops on Lotus

Raindrops on the leaves of Sacred Lotus, Nelumbo nucifera, a very well-known plant in all of Asia, and seen as sacred to the followers of several religions, most of all to Taoists, Buddhists and Hindus. It is an aquatic plant with perennial roots that survive over many years (possibly up to a thousand years!). Its seeds also have a remarkable survival capacity, and the oldest seeds that have been proven to be brought to germination were 1300 years old, from North-East China.
